IRDAI bars Edelweiss, Pramerica from opening new branches

What Happened

IRDAI has barred Edelweiss Life Insurance and Pramerica Life Insurance from opening new places of business for six months after finding both companies breached the regulator’s Expenses of Management limits in 2024-25. The orders, issued separately on August 20, came after off-site monitoring and enforcement proceedings.

Compliance Impact
