FSSAI issues 150 notices over misleading food ads

FSSAI said it has issued more than 150 notices to food companies in recent months for misleading advertising, false claims and labelling violations. The list it shared includes Nestle India, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola India, Abbott India, Red Bull India and several other major brands.

Compliance Impact
The enforcement drive reaches beyond packaged foods. FSSAI said it has also sent 12 notices to Amazon and Flipkart, cancelled one Amazon warehouse licence, and issued more than 30 notices to restaurants and chains such as KFC, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Domino’s and Costa Coffee.
